AUS Swimming Season Opens at Mount Allison Invitational
AUS swimmers dive into the new season at Mount Allison Invitational, with Dalhousie setting the early pace.
(SACKVILLE, N.B.) The 2025–26 AUS swimming season officially kicked off Oct. 25 at the Mount Allison Invitational, hosted at the Mount Allison University pool in Sackville, N.B. The season-opening meet featured teams from Dalhousie University, the UNB REDS, and the Mount Allison Mounties.
Dalhousie continued to demonstrate its conference dominance, sweeping both the men's and women's team titles and finishing first overall with 1,880 points. The Tigers were led by strong performances across all events, including standout swims from veterans Emma Carrier Clarke, Sara Bennett, and David Harvie, who each captured multiple event victories and contributed to winning relay efforts.
The battle for second place was tightly contested between the UNB REDS and the host Mount Allison Mounties. UNB narrowly edged Mount Allison in the overall team standings, 750 points to 743. The REDS were powered by impressive swims from Xavier LeBouthillier, Maria McDougall, and Nolan Oma, while Mount Allison showcased strong depth and early-season form. The Mounties' women's team placed second overall with 464 points, supported by strong individual performances from Jes Lawrence, Ryca Stiwich, and Ashlynn Clarke, and competitive relay finishes.
The invitational offered an encouraging start to the AUS season, with swimmers across all programs establishing early benchmarks and setting competitive times. The next stop on the AUS circuit will be the Dalhousie Invitational Meet being hosted by the Tigers Nov. 8-9.
