UNB volleyball star and UPEI hockey forward take home weekly AUS honours

Lydia Green from the UNB REDS women’s volleyball team is the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 1, 2026.
A fifth-year science student from Bedford, N.S., Green played a critical role as the league-leading REDS remained unbeaten with a pair of victories over the Saint Mary’s Huskies this past weekend.
In Friday’s 3-1 win, Green struck 16 kills, scored 18 points, and registered eight digs and a pair of blocks.
On Saturday, in a dramatic 3-2 triumph, she hit a match-high 22 kills, scored 25 points, put up four blocks, and recorded 13 digs, earning Player of the Game honours.

Sport: Men’s Hockey
Position: Forward
Hometown: Pickering, Ont.
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: BBA
Josh Currie from the UPEI Panthers men’s hockey team has been named the East Coast Lifestyle AUS Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 1, 2026.
A third-year business student from Pickering, Ont., Currie tallied six points in two weekend wins for the Panthers.
In Friday night’s 5-4 overtime win over the Dalhousie Tigers, Currie assisted on UPEI’s first goal of the game.
On Saturday, he was the driving force behind the Panthers’ 6-4 comeback win over the STFX X-Men, delivering a dominant five-point performance. Currie erupted for four goals and an assist in the victory and was named the First Star of the Game.
Throughout the 2025-26 season, each East Coast Lifestyle AUS Athlete of the Week will receive a $50 ECL gift card and a signed certificate, courtesy of East Coast Lifestyle and Atlantic University Sport.
